Your
involvement is an important part of the Northside-Southside Study.
There are several ways for you to be involved. One of the best ways
is to attend our public events that will be scheduled at study milestones.
There you will be able to view the latest technical information, talk
to study team members one-on-one and give your input directly. The
dates, times and locations of each event will be posted on this web
site.
Public
Open Houses – June 13-15, 2006
Dozens of citizens
attended the first round of public open houses for the “Northside-Southside
Transit Improvements Study” that were held June 13-15, 2006. In
addition to the general public open houses, a special meeting was
held on Sunday, June 11, 2006 for limited English speaking residents.
A number of African, Latino, Vietnamese and Bosnian people attended
this meeting, which was presented in their native languages. At
all the public meetings, attendees gave their input on the different
MetroLink routes that were presented. In addition, they commented
on the different criteria that will be used to evaluate the different
routes. The overwhelming majority of participants felt the meetings
were worthwhile, very informative and well organized. Click
here to view the information that was presented at the first
round of public open houses and to read the public comment summary
report.
