Final Newsletter and Open House Comment Summary

Last Fall, the Board of Directors of the East-West Gateway Council of Governments, our region’s metropolitan planning agency approved a potential MetroLink extension in the City of St. Louis. The board’s vote means that if or when light rail is expanded in the City, this is the route that should be considered. Click here to see the alignment.

We need your opinion! Come to the final round of public open houses and let us know which new MetroLink route would be best for St. Louis City. Three public open houses will be held for your convenience. The same information will be available at each meeting including a presentation to update you on the latest study information. You will learn how the alternatives were evaluated and the outcome of feedback from previous public meetings. October 24-26, 2006

The public gave its input on the final set of light rail alternatives, station locations and potential development opportunities for North St. Louis, South St. Louis and downtown at Station Planning Workshops held October 24-26, 2006. Attendees viewed project information and heard a presentation on station design and land use before breaking into working groups. In the groups, participants provided input on the proposed station locations, their look and potential development opportunities around them. Study team members led the work group discussions. After the station planning activity, an attendee from each group gave a brief summary of his group’s discussion. Click here to view some of the materials at the station planning workshops.
